Genre- Horror

Narrative- The storyline is clearly based on a family that move to a new house which is haunted and scary things which come to life. This is a tense narrative which fits the genre horror very well.

Characters-  The characters are typical american but they all come from different cities in America. The main hero is brave, strong and willing to do anything to save his family. The family is scared and the mother gets possessed.

Iconography- There is plenty of iconography typical of the horror genre. Also there was blood. tension and sound effects which make the movie scarier.

Settings- The movie is set in a haunted house.

Genre-  Horror

Characters- The characters are young american women and men, probably 18-22. The women that died; young, female and vulnerable. Also her best friend who wants to get in contact with her; brave, young, female and willing to do anything to get her friend.

Iconography- In this trailer there are plenty of iconography regarding to a horror movie such as loud sound effects, death, blood and tension.

Film promotion: pitching

Title: Karma

A young teenager, who gets murdered by her own best friend for falling in love with the same young boy her best friend, is overly obsessed with.

This film is a horror which is set in London and is similar to the other women from the director Nick Cassavetes. This film will appeal to those to the age of 15+.

The story is based around a strong bonded friend who falls out because they both fall in love with a guy.

The narrative of my film: A sixteen year old teenager named Alex Harris has a best friend named Chloe Lewis. They have known each other since they were very young and had never got into an argument with each other, until John Cameron comes on the scene. Betraying the trust of her best friend, Chloe Lewis dates John knowing that her best friend is in love with him too. Her best friend finds out and decides to kill Chloe so that she could get John Cameron.  Months later Chloe starts haunting her best friend Alex Harris and strange stuff starts happening.

Minority Report shot-by-shot analysis

Shot 1
The medium close up angle allows to see the police's face clearly and up to the shoulders. The medium close up also allows to see facial expressions and a bit of the background. There's more than one police officer which may show that the situation they're in is very dangerous. There's less background which shows that it's focused on the police officer's. The facial expression shows that police officers aren't very happy and the audience know that they want to catch Tom.

shot 2
The wide / establishing shot angle allows to see the location of where this next scene is taking place. The establishing shot allows enough background as it's taking place in an alley way where it's very dark and also where it's about to build tension. The car immediately tells the audience that it's going to be taking place in this particular location.
Shot 3
The close up shot angle shows the character's facial expression and by looking at closely you can see that the character is in a alleyway. The close up shot was used so that the audience could see expression on Tom's face. His facial expression shows that he's annoyed.

Key Concepts - media analysis

Media language- The first key convention is the talk talk broadband logo at the bottom of the image in big capital letters. The logo is lit up which matches up with the slogan- 'A brighter home for everyone'. The word 'brighter' links with the logo because the logo is bright and catches peoples attention quickly. The image suggests that the people who use talk talk broadband are well educated. I know this because in the house there are loads of books on the shelf and also she is using a laptop which suggests she can read. The slogan explains that if you're using talk talk broadband then you'll have a brighter future. The colours are very light, it shows that the people who use talk talk are very calm and have no problems.

institution- The major institution behind this advert is BT sport. This is because they're both broadband and similar because they both provide internet for people. Talk talk broadband is better than BT sport because the internet doesn't cut off at all.

Audience- I think this advert is aimed at older customers of talk talk broadband since they know how to pay and if the broadband is good. They will know how much it costs in a month/ year. I think the age range is 20-60 because older people are more aware of the payment. I think the gender percentage is 50% male and 50% female because in my opinion I think both genders know about the broadband and how to deal with it.

Representation- This advert presents that talk talk broadband is the best and helps everyone live in peace and success. This advert also shows a women holding a laptop alone in a house. The house looks bright and comfortable. This suggests that by using talktalk broadband it makes you have a brighter home.

Media debates

'My facebook friends are the same as my real friends.'

I disagree with this statement because facebook is all about making new friends and communicating with people. Also facebook helps you make new friends by going on the search button. Facebook helps search, likes and look at peoples profile/ pictures. Most of the people use facebook and meet new people by going on the chat button and adding people they don't know. Facebook also shows the location of the person and where about they go, this helps other people to know where their friends go.

South Africa: 44 million
Middle East and NA: 24.9 million
- The programme has won many rewards.
2. The institution behind the programme-
- The channel was launched at October 18th 1922.
The founder of this programme is John Reith, however the person in charge is Director- General Mark Thompson.
- The channel tells people what is happening around the world about the latest news which effects peoples daily lives or could have in the future.

Target audience- I think this is aimed at adults because it comes late on TV so children would not be awake and also it has some inappropriate stories. In my opinion I think it's a 50/50 split between females and males.

The main stories that were broadcast on that day were:

-  Footage shows rebel with MH17 wreckage
- A man dies in Australia shark attack
- Children killed during UKraine 'truce'
- 'We had no warning' floods survivor
- Fire breaks out on wooden rollercoaster

I think the stories were broadcast in this order because the first three stories are very serious so they put it first to grab attention. Also it makes people more aware of the situations around the world and especially story 2 because it makes us stay safe when going to the beach were theres sharks in the sea. The 3rd story suggests that everyone should always be prepared incase anything dangerous happens- 'we had no warning'. This tells us that they didn't know that there was going to be a flood going on.

The main stories that were broadcast today were:

- UK sending arms to Iraqi government
- Lost arctic ship found after 160 years
- Police chef 'failed' abuse victims
- Women tells court of travis 'assault'
- 88 metal hips and still doing the splits

I think the stories were broadcast in this particular order because they're about the world and that's really important for adults to know about . Also I think the UK sending arms to Iraqi government is important because its political and shows England point of view towards this situation. They put ' 88 metal hips and still doing the splits' last because its not important and its a fun topic to talk about.
